Summer’s here already, and it’s time for your flip-flops, shorts, easy-breezy clothes, chilled beverages and some ice-cream goodness. You probably already have all your winter essentials stocked away, including woollens, heating devices, skiing gear, and all the snowboard accessories that you got for sale. Speaking of snowboarding kit, we often contemplate and put a lot of efforts into our winter wear. We ensure utmost care for our clothing, from buying the best detergent, fabric softener to storing them in a neat, dry place with scented mothballs. When it comes to taking care of your winter sports kit, we hardly pay much heed to that. It’s funny how we can show the slightest concern about things that bring us maximum joy! Your snowboarding complete kit needs a little bit of TLC too. This blog shares a few tips to take care of your snowboarding accessories so that you don’t have to invest in new ones until the time next season arrives.
.Wipe them dry and store them in a moisture-free place. Rather than keeping them in a garage or loft, make space at a dry and temperate place, such as the back of your closet.
.Always store your snowboards upright to preserve the camber/ shape of your board. Always keep your goggles in a case to prevent scratches and damage.
.Make sure that your choice of storage spot doesn’t allow direct sunlight.
.Wax regularly and ensure sharpening the edges of your snowboard to remove all burrs and keep their quality intact and ensure proper glide and performance.
.Do not forget about your boots. Make sure there’s no moisture and dry them well before storing them away. Use a good quality shoe powder.
.Keep track of your freeride safety equipment. Remove the batteries from the device. Look for damage in backpack, shovel and probe. Additionally, check for your airbag, trigger, and cartridge system.
.To ensure that the screws responsible for putting your snowboard together don’t get lost, affix them along with the board with tape.
.For storing splitboards, dry the skins and never stick them together. Use a mesh or a film to prevent losing their adhesive power.
Store right so that you are ready to knock them off in the snow the following season.
